Some insight into Beeville

Beeville, Texas, located in Bee County, Texas was named for Colonel Bernard E. Bee, a South Carolinian who helped Texas in its early struggles. His son, also named Bernard E. Bee, was killed during the American War Between the States in the 1860's. He was the man who gave Thomas Jackson the name "Stonewall". As he lay, mortally wounded, he admonished his troops to rally around Thomas Jackson, that he was a "Stonewall", hence the nickname.

We are near Longitude 98, and 30 degrees North Latitude, where the west begins and where the climate and land changes dramatically in relative short distances, from rolling hills to the coastal plain, with its rich farm land to brasada, to Texas hill country type topography. It is a pleasant drive to the Texas Gulf Coast and Mexico. Beeville is between Corpus Christi and San Antonio on Highway 181, and Houston and Laredo on Highway 59, which is projected to be interstate Highway 69. The new Highway 69, when completed, will go from the Canadian border to Mexico. It is easy to have it all, including blue skies and sunshine most of the time...whether you want to have a farm or ranch, are retired, like to hunt and fish, or desire a good place to move your business.
